Functional Testing

What is a ramp test to exhaustion?

Intensity that climbs, round after round, until you can't keep up — while we track power output and lactate to build training zones that actually match your discipline.

A ramp test to exhaustion is a test where the intensity gradually increases until you reach your limit. During the test, we measure your power output (how much work you're doing per unit of time) and your lactate levels (how your body produces and handles energy). From those metrics we assess your current fitness level and define precise, individualised training zones.

Endurance athletes often perform this test on a treadmill or bike, but those formats don't fully reflect the demands of Hyrox. The functional fitness ramp test was designed specifically for Hyrox athletes: it uses full-body functional movements, and was validated with the top athletes in the sport.

Built for your discipline.

The ramp test is an EMOM that increases in demand every round until you can no longer keep up — the modalities depend on whether we're testing for CrossFit or Hyrox.
